is an MFA graduate (1998) in dance from the University of Iowa. In addition, she holds a complete Pilates certification as well as the 200-hour yoga certification. She loves working with a variety of ages, techniques, and styles while teaching at Bartelt Dancers, Otterbein University, Ballet Met, The Yoga Factory, and with private clients. Her favorite focus is helping students understand the dynamics of the human body and how to apply that knowledge to movement study.
Andrea Scherler is from Cleveland, Ohio where she danced for 16 years at Art In Motion Dance Center. Throughout her competitive dance years, she was a protege for Cathy Roes Ultimate Dance competition as well as Jason Michaels Energy Source Dance Association. She attended the Rockettes Summer Intensive for 2 summers and took classes at several conventions, such as the Pulse. After high school, Andrea moved to Columbus to attend The Ohio State University, where she graduated with a BS in Industrial Engineering and a minor in Dance in 2017. While at Ohio State, Andrea was a member of the Club Dance Team and attended NDA nationals for 2 years, where the team placed 8th in the nation. Currently, Andrea is a member of the Movement Afoot tap company. You can catch her performing around the community bringing tap to the people! Andrea also works at LBrands as a supply chain analyst. This is Andrea’s 5th year teaching at Bartelt Dancers and she can’t wait to spread her love of dance with her students!
was a competitive cheerleader for 7 years. After high school Misty continued her career as a college cheerleader for Wittenberg University, where she received her bachelors degree in political science. Throughout her 5 years of coaching tumbling, she has worked with many different ages and levels. Additionally, Misty was a competitive cheerleading coach for two years. She is USASF certified in levels one through 3 in tumbling and stunting. Misty is extremely excited and eager to begin her new journey as a tumbling instructor with Bartelt Dancers.
is very excited to be part of the Bartelt faculty as Competitive Director! She began her dance training at the age of 5 with Judy Dollenmayer Studio of Dance in Gahanna, OH. During her time at the studio, she and her team achieved national grand championships two consecutive years running. Morgan continued her education at Fort Hayes Career Center, where she was selected for the pre-professional dance program. At Fort Hayes, Morgan experimented more with choreography, while also focusing on the technical aspect and anatomy of dance. Morgan hopes her experience and training will help inspire kids to love the art of dance as much as she does!

started dance at the age of 3 in the northeastern Pennsylvania area at the Joan Harris Centre for Gifted and Talented. While going to pharmacy school in Pennsylvania she spent her free time teaching Ballet, Tap and Jazz to ages 3 - adult at the Joan Harris Centre. Vanessa graduated with her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Wilkes University in 2005. Since than she has been a practicing pharmacist in Pennsylvania, Texas and now Ohio. Currently she is a clinical pharmacist for the Medication Management Program at The Ohio State University. Vanessa is married to her husband, Eli, and they have a son and daughter. Vanessa is excited to be teaching dance again and delighted to be part of the Bartelt Family.
is a recent graduate of The Ohio State University. She currently is working at Worthington Park Elementary school, and substitute teaches at Bartelt Dancers. She danced at Art In Motion Dance Center in Medina, Ohio for 15 years where she studied tap, ballet, jazz, contemporary, and hiphop. In her time there, she competed and had opportunities in Cathy Roe’s Ultimate Dance Competition in the Dance Spectacular, Encore DCS’s opening number, and participated in Ticket to Broadway’s Circle of Stars. She enjoys working with all ages at the studio and helping students find their joy in dance.
has been dancing since the age of five. She studied locally with Jacquie Hardy Wright, Jimmy Rawlins, Jorg Fasting, Dorie Cooper, and various other choreographers across the country. She has taught for Ballet Met, choreographed for Vaud-villities and Cedar point, and has locally and nationally recognized choreography. Many of her former students have professional careers in dance. "My greatest joy is teaching. I love the simplicity that preschoolers bring to my life. I love my advance dancers who challenge me to always be better than I was the last time!"
is a graduate of the Columbia College Chicago where she obtained her BA in Dance with an emphasis on Choreography and Teaching. Chelsea trained in many styles including Jazz, Hip Hop, Modern, Ballet, Creative Movement, and Contact Improvisation. She was previously the Creative Movement/Dance Instructor for A+ Children's Academy and KIPP Columbus. Chelsea is extremely excited to start her sixth year at Bartelt Dancers, and step into the new role of Marketing & Advertising Director!
is looking forward to her 17th year as Bartelt Dancers' front desk manager! From dance mom, to studio administrator, Betsy has seen it all! She's been to many competitions, events, and performances, and is a key player in keeping our recitals organized and running smooth!
has been dancing for 16 years, 5 of them right here at Bartelt Dancers! Kayla is now a part of New Vision Dance Company where she continues to take classes and grow her own personal style of dance. Currently Kayla is studying Early Childhood Education and Development in college. Dance is more than just Kayla's passion, it is her purpose, and she wants to help others discover their passion for dance!

is the artistic director and studio owner of Bartelt Dancers. She has been teaching in the Columbus area for over 25 years and has a BFA in Dance with a minor in child development from Texas Christian University. She danced two years with the Fort Worth Ballet and with Third Street Moving Company. Kathy has taught for OSU Continuing Education, Fort Hayes Career Center, and currently teaches ballet, modern, and dance history at Otterbein University. Kathy has produced nationally recognized choreography, taught students for Rhythmic Jr. Olympics and has several former students as professional dancers and more pursuing professional dance careers. is a new member to the Bartelt teaching staff, but not new to the Bartelt family. Whitney has been dancing with the Bartelt adult ballet class for the last six seasons. During the day, Whitney works as a Middle School Art Teacher in Dublin. Whitney is excited that her 'second position' will be teaching ballet to new group of dancers
is experienced in child development and education. She continues to take dance classes, and pursue dance education in and outside of the studio. She loves music and dance. Kate danced as a youngster and brings her love of movement to her early movement exploration and dance classes. In addition to teaching, Kate loves being involved in all facets of studio life. Starting her second year as Assistant Director, and her fourth year teaching, Kate has finally found her home!
