Please refer to the dance bulletin boards for important information throughout the dance season.

Registration

A non refundable registration fee is due at registration along with your first month's tuition (September); which is also non refundable.  The registration fee is $30 per dancer and $35 per family with multiple dancers.

Tuition

Annual tuition is based on a nine month seasonal fee, September thru May.  Monthly tuition includes a total of 34 classes and is figured on an average of four weeks per month, although some months may contain 3 or 5 actual weeks (note that technical rehearsal and dress rehearsal are considered lesson 35 and 36).

Monthly Tuition Rates:  (2008 - 2009 Season)

30 minute class - $40

45 minute class - $45

1 hour class - $50

1 1/4 hour class - $55

1 1/2 hour class - $60

1 hour combo class - $55

1 1/2 hour combo class - $65

Tuition Policies

- There is a $15 late fee for any payment made after the 10th of the month

- There is a $25 fee for returned checks

- We accept cash and check as forms of payment

Discounts

- Multiple class discounts are available for dancers taking more then one class (these do not apply to adult classes or combo classes).  The discounts are as follows:  5% off second class, 10% off third class, 15% off fourth class, etc.

- Sibling discount is 10% off the least expensive sibling total cost.

- Referrals for the current dance season are welcomed.  January tuition will be waived when your new referral dances September thru January (a maximum discount credit of 45 minute class).  Please indicate your referral at registration.

Make Up Classes

Tuition is due in full for all classes regardless of class attendance and is not prorated for reasons such as illness, vacations, or weather.  Make up class is available upon consultation with the instructor or secretary.  Class size is limited so make up class must be scheduled.

Parent Observation

Individual instructors determine class viewing policy.  We encourage and support an open door policy; however please honor the viewing preferences set by your instructor.

Withdrawal

When a student will no longer be attending classes, it is the parent's responsibility to officially withdraw the child from class by filling out a withdrawal form at the studio in person.  Until the dancer is officially withdrawn, we will consider the student to be active in the dance program.  The parent will continue to be financially responsible for the tuition up until the exact date that Bartelt Dancers receives the withdrawal form.

Dress Code

Ballet - leotard, tights, and pink ballet shoes

Jazz - leotard, dance pants, and black jazz shoes

Tap - leotard, dance pants, and black tap shoes

Lyrical - leotard, dance pants and foot undeez

Hip Hop - tank top/fitted tee, dance pants, and tennis shoes

- Pointe class is offered to dancers by invitation only.  For the safety of our dancers, dancers on pointe must be 12 years old and have prior approval from the teacher.

- No gum in dance class

- No excessive jewelry in dance class

- No street shoes (shoes worn outside) are to be used on the dance floor.

Recital

Our end of the year recital is planned for the first or second weekend in June.  Recital costume fees are due by November 1st and are non refundable.  Youth costumes (10 years and younger) are $60 each and adult costumes (11 years and older) are $70 each.  Costumes will not be ordered unless they are paid in full.  Late costume fees will require additional shipping fees and will only be ordered if delivery prior to recital is guaranteed.  The recital fee is due by March 1st and is $40 per family.  The recital fee covers two tickets, rental of the theater, and production costs.  Additional tickets will cost $8.00 each. You account must be paid in full to receive tickets and to purchase additional tickets. 

Birthday Parties

Birthday party packages are available to all ages with a variety of parties to choose from.  Hip hop party, pajama party, and princess party.  The party is two hours long with one hour spent dancing and one hour to party however you like in our party room.  The cost is $95 for 10 or fewer dancers and $115 for 11 to 15 dancers.  Please call the studio to book your party.

Studio Policies

- No food, beverages, or candy in the dance studio.  Fire regulations prohibit smoking.  Drink breaks will be determined by the teacher.

- Bartelt Dancers is not responsible for lost or stolen items.  We advise you to take all valuables into class with you.

- Any class not meeting the minimum quota of five students will be cancelled, shortened, rescheduled to combine with another class, or shared an increased tuition to offset the expense of low enrollment.

- No class changes after November 1st

- There is a change of class fee of $10 for switching, dropping, and adding classes after registration for each change of schedule.

- Refunds are given at the discretion of the artistic director

- The faculty and staff of Bartelt Dancers assumes students will participate in the recital unless formally notified in writing.

Inclement Weather

Bartelt Dancers will be closed when Upper Arlington Schools are closed due to weather conditions.  Each student is responsible for scheduling a make up class with the front desk.
